The reason for abnormal fluctuations in consumption of iridium tantalum titanium anode during normal use!
During the normal use of iridium tantalum titanium anodes, the anode structure is relatively stable. Although there may be some wear and tear on the coating during use, the entire process is relatively slow. The fluctuation in additive consumption caused by normal attenuation and deterioration of the anode coating usually needs to be calculated on a monthly basis to be reflected. Therefore, the drastic changes in additives within a few days are largely due to other reasons.
When there is an abnormal consumption of additives, the first step is to determine whether the abnormal situation occurs suddenly or worsens over a long period of time. If it suddenly deteriorates, it is highly likely to be caused by contamination of the plating solution. At this point, a static test of the plating solution can be conducted to identify whether there are oxidizing substances in the solution that cause decomposition of the additive. The liquid medicine can be sampled and sealed for 24 hours to test the concentration changes of additives before and after testing for judgment. Usually, in the absence of pollutants, the concentration before and after is very close. In the cases we have experienced, there are various reasons such as the addition of hydrogen peroxide in sulfuric acid, the mixing of micro etching solution into the electroplating tank, and the mixing of nitrate ions in copper oxide powder. These are all lessons that can be learned and identified through static testing of the plating solution.
Of course, if the above issues have been resolved, one can turn their attention to the anode itself. At this point, the condition of the anode coating can be observed, such as whether the coating color is uniform and whether the coating adhesion is good. Of course, seeking help from professional anode suppliers can also provide better professional advice.
